A Law Firm That Is Here To Help And Here To Stay
Bennett & Gulley, P.A., is one of the most trusted firms in northeast North Carolina – a reputation that we continually seek to earn with each client we represent. While we primarily focus on providing highly skilled criminal defense to clients in Edgecombe, Nash and Wilson counties, we are also proud to fight for clients who have been injured due to the negligence of another person.
Our current team has more than a half-century of combined legal experience, and we are just the latest members of a firm that has been in continuous operation in the Rocky Mount metro area since the 1970s. Our collective experience and longevity are evidence that we are both here to help and here to stay.
Attorneys Committed To Their Community And The Firm’s Legacy
Our attorneys are local to the area, and both earned their bachelor’s degree from UNC before going on to earn a law degree from another in-state educational institution. We understand and respect the community we serve as well as our firm’s long history within it. Our firm has operated at its current Rocky Mount location since the mid-1970s, when J. Edgar Moore, Larry Diedrick, George Whitaker and Sam Carlisle were the original partners.
Although none of us are founding members, we strive to uphold the same values that have made the firm a respected local institution. To learn more about each of our skilled attorneys, please follow the links below:
Criminal Defense Lawyers With Prosecutorial Experience
There is often no substitute for firsthand experience. In a legal context, experience in your opponent’s position is especially valuable.
Both of the attorneys at our firm have previously served as prosecutors, which means we know firsthand how the state prepares and prosecutes a criminal case. No matter how your charges are resolved, our experience will benefit you. If you decide to fight the charges at trial, we understand how to challenge the evidence against you (as well as how the evidence was obtained). If you decide to resolve through a plea deal or an alternative to prosecution, we know the full array of options available and can advise you accordingly.
Free Consultations Available – No Appointment Needed
Whether you need to discuss criminal charges or your legal options after a personal injury, we are pleased to offer free initial consultations to all potential clients. And unlike most law firms, we don’t require an appointment. Simply come by our office any weekday between 3:00 and 5:00 p.m. to speak with one of our experienced and caring attorneys about your legal matter.
